Where your attention goes,
your energy flows.
Your most valuable resource isn't
money, or even time…
It's attention.
(That is, your energy and engagement.)
As a business owner, an infinite number
of things compete for your attention.
The challenge isn't finding
more things to do.
It's identifying the few
tasks that actually matter.
That's the shift from employee
mode to CEO mode.
Warren Buffett famously kept a list of
his 25 most important priorities.
But he only ever worked on the top five.
To help business owners make this
shift, I use a simple framework:
Vision → Priorities → Timetable
Be clear on your vision (or purpose).
Let your vision determine your priorities.
Then let your priorities determine your timetable.
Most business owners do the opposite.
They fill their calendar first...
Then wonder why they feel busy but
don't make meaningful progress.
Your timetable should
reflect your priorities.
And your priorities should
reflect your vision.
When we consistently focus on
the few things that matter most...
Progress becomes inevitable;
